Hello to all from sunny Florida!
I've had my Sony PRS-500 ever since they were available. I was on the waiting list after the debut at the Los Vegas show. I have not been disappointed with the reader, but the Connect website has a lot to be desired.
Mostly, I buy my books from the Connect website, but some titles are not on the website. So, I have a ScanSnap now that I use at work (I teach math), and during the summers, I scan books that are not available in eformat into Word docs. In the next few weeks, I'm considering using the trade in option offered by Sony to get the PRS-505. Basically, I want to be able to use the 8MG memory stick that is not supported with the PRS-500. Currently I'm reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Next up: Hot, Flat, and Crowded, then The Kite Runner. See you all on the boards. jairizarry |

Hi jairizarry and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a 505 for over a year now and am very pleased with it. In addition to being able to use the memory stick, it can read books in ePub and ADE which gives you access to a lot of other book sources including public libraries.
Be sure and let us know when you get your 505 |

Hello from a former Floridian!!
Welcome to MobileRead, but be careful!! It is addictive!! Be afraid, be very afraid! Seriously, though, it is an excellent resource for help with your reader and for obtaining wonderfully formatted and FREE public domain books! Enjoy! ![]() Kaz - I miss South Florida! ![]() |

Hi, and welcome!
I'm pretty new myself, and have already become completely addicted to using an e-book reader (expect for the painful blisters.) I also enjoy the search for new materials to read almost as much (but not quite.) As Florida is quite flat, you should have no difficulty finding other e-book readers near you to share books. Just stand on a telephone book and hold yours up in the air and everyone in the state will be able to see you and you can all get together! ![]() Stitchawl (from a mountain State. ![]() |
