Why does Cybook not display the mobipocket as it's seen on Mobipocket Windows desktop PC program?
It's driving me crazy. thx |

Desktop app is written in C++, Cybook's reader is in Java. It's a different implementation, so it displays some things differently.

What exactly is different? If you don't use the same font and exactly the same (font and page) size, there will be a different pagination. And then there are differences in feature support and possibility of changing preferences...

The Windows version has more options. You should be able to get it to display very similarly to what the Cybook does if you play with fonts and other options, but the reverse isn't necessarily the case (some things that the Windows version can do that the Cybook version can't do).
There are also differences in underlying capabilities, but these are typically only significant for reference works like some dictionaries. If there is some capability in particular that seems to be missing, I suggest posting a screenshot of the Windows version, see HowTo (use "Alt - Print Screen" on the MobiPocket window) . |

Can you be more explicit about what the problem is that you're encountering, please?

Ok, I've tested it with the Iliad and I get the same exact problem. It's with the blank space separation that should go sometimes between paragraphs. I've got the PC reader to behave properly, but then in the CyBook it doesn't work well.
The space is allways lost. And also, can I get the "java" reader into PC so I can test how actually it would look on a handset reader. Oh btw that differences SUCK. |

I don't think it's possible to get the "java" version on anything than an iRex or a Cybook

In any case, all the EInk devices with DRMed MOBI support use the Java version (so add Hanlin and the Kindle to your list). Also, the BlackBerry and the (alpha) "java phone" readers are using the Java version. |

If the book uses "<p>" tags to separate paragraphs, you will get a small gap (about 1/3 of the line) between paragraphs, on both the CyBook and the Windows Desktop Mobi reader.
