Hadrien Gardeur of Feedbooks interviewed on TeleRead

http://www.teleread.org/2009/03/28/t...d-stanza-ally/

Good, informative discussion of ebooks and FeedBooks' strategy . Looking forward to the new technology release Hadrien!

It also has a link to Neelan Choksi's interview which I thought was a great read.

Great article. I especially liked this tantalising little nugget:

but in the upcoming weeks we’ll open our workflow
I've found Feedbooks online content creator very good and produces very nice looking epubs (and others). I wonder if there's a desktop version coming, or an expanded online version in the works? Very excited about what might happen in the coming weeks for us lowly 'unpubs'.

thanks for posting this anurag ; i agree, two very interesting interviews !

and for those who might not know him, Hadrien is also a moderator here, and when he is not busy thinking of new and ingenious ways to improve the feedbooks experience, he gives some excellent advice about epub best practices, etc.

And also a very nice chap all around from my conversations with him on Twitter Now I wish I hadn't spent most of my French lessons bunking off school and going to the park.

also, he usually joins us for the MobileRead meetup apéros in Paris, where he gives us plenty of great advice while having a friendly drink.

I might just do that. I've had a yen for awhile to learn another language, but never got around to it. My experiences with France as a country have been only two in number.

The first time I was eight or nine years old, passing through Paris on a coach, watching the lights strobing on the windows, and seeing nothing of Paris at all.

The second was a college trip at seventeen when I got blazingly drunk and ended up in per Lachaise hunting for Jim Morrison with a gaggle of other drunken teenagers At least that's what I think happened, the rest of the trip was spent feeling very sick and disorientated.

Ahhh.... memories.

I'd love to, but I'm afraid I have Best Man duties around that time, plus lots of other things on (editing, writing.... all fun). I'll have to make do with Francois Truffaut films and translations of Guy de Maupassant for the moment

Is there a way to use Feedbooks for creating content that is not going to be shared with everyone? So I can use it to say convert a book in copyright to ePub just for my own use.

I've done it with a couple of books.. You just don't 'upload' the book and instead download the preview when you're finished. Then delete the book from your account.

I'm not sure if Hadrien would want that, and I've only done it a couple of times, but it worked out pretty well.
