Question e-mailing mobitext files

Does anybody know if you can e-mail a .mobi file straight to a kindle 2? And is there any way to make it be treated like a newspaper or blog (with an expiration, etc.) ?

Maybe I should explain what I'm after here.

I want something kind of like a "personal blog." It'll be a cron job that generates some information I want sent to me once-a-day. It's not to compete with any of the subscription blogs amazon offers ... it's more stuff that is of interest to me. For example, I have some reports that I automatically generate out of Trac's timeline that I currently e-mail to myself I know I could have said cron job send them as plain text, or even as HTML, but it'd be much handier to put them into a .mobi file with a nice table of contents.

Yes, you can email your Kindle a .mobi book. Just send it an empty email to your Kindle with the file attached. It will pop up in your Kindle within a couple of minutes, generally. Don't know about date/time expiry. You will find your Kindle email address under "manage my Kindle"

cheers
