Cover Pages Not Detected In Baen Books PRC Files?
So, again, I'm going through my Baen Books PRC files and these books have a cover page with a small image. Mobipocket Reader processes the images correct but they aren't detected by Calibre. When I convert them to Mobi, the cover image is stripped off.

There is an option under the conversion options to remove the first image in the source file. It might be worth checking this is not set for the files you are converting.

I psersonally nearly always download a cover image from the web, so I set this option to avoid having cover images twice in the converted files.

Nope, that's not the issue. I just can't read the cover from the PRC file. Even going into Edit Metadata, selecting the PRC file, and then hitting the cover icon doesn't work. Right now I'm re-converting everything from LIT files, which do have covers, but... grr.

So why are you converting the PRC files from Baen when they don't need to be? They should work as it on a K2.

I always make sure I get a copy of the .lit format file from BAEN as it seems to be the best and most convenient for conversion to other formats.

PRC is a mobi file. If you edit the metadata in calibre and do a "send to device" you should get a file with corrected info.

Use mobi2mobi to edit the metadata. That should work fine. Do a search on MR to find it.
