Received my Kindle 2 for my BD and love it. I have been waiting for about a year to see if the new Kindle would have color - but it does not and I still love it. I have been buying audio books from Audible for the last two years ( great when taking the dog for a walk) and really enjoy the Kindle text to speech. Not a "performance" read but helps while making dinner when you just can't put that book down.

Greetings Michele, welcome to MobileRead.

There are quite a few of us in the DC area and in Northern Virginia. In fact, we had a get together (or "Meet-up" in MobileRead terms) last fall in Herndon. Here's a link to the notices and a few pictures from the get together. (We try not to publish faces without their permission.)

Look around, make your self at home. Chat a bit, grab a few books from the free download section. Maybe wander into the Lounge where the rules of time, space and bad jokes have been suspended.
