In relation to my "Looking for a creative avatar " I'd like to ask the MobileRead community "HOW DID YOU" come up with your avatar

I was thinking of website name and I didn't want to go with my own name, I wanted something more metaphorical. I thought of a fusion of man/machine and along the lines of writing, I came up with typewriter and a head fused together.

Mine is a picture that a friend drew for me. There's a link to her website in my signature. My internet alter ego for the past 9 years has been a fruit bat, and my avatar is a fruit bat reading a book.

I was wondering what that was! Are you familiar with "Stella the Bat" children's story? Lovely story and absolutely fantastic artwork!

a bunch of other members got fed up because i was i was too lazy to make an avatar

so they got together and made some for me.
