Kindle 2 and calibre
I plugged in my Kindle 2 and ran calibre 0.4.140
The "Send to device" button is not active and I can't figure it out. Do I need to tell calibre about the kindle? If so, how?

A driver needs to be written for the K2. Contact the following member. He wrote the driver for the original Kindle. He'll have stuff he wants you to run.
