Hi!

I'm new here and I hope this is the way to go. I had a problem with my Sony Reader, I lost everything that was in my reader. There was books and resume that was put in by Sony and some that was downloaded by me (ebook, music) and everything is gone. I don't understand what happen. Several days ago I tried to download a book and it didn't work, it was showing it didn't have enough space in it or the reader didn't have what it need to download anything. This is strange because I just had 4 ebook that I downloaded and the one that was already in when I received it that was put their by Sony. Is anybody can help me to understand?

Hi romy and welcome to the Forum.

Have you tried calling Sony Customer Support? I've had pretty good luck with them. They start you out at Level I and, if they can't figure out eh problem, they promote you to Level II. The Level II guys can remote into your computer and look the problem over first hand.

cassidym,

thank you for your reply, no I didn't try Sony Customer Support, but I will. I like the idea that Paradise will be a kind of library.

Hi Dreams and the others,
No my problem isn't fix yet. I contacted Sony Customer Support and they answered they couldn't help me by internet that I had to contact them by phone because the problem was to serious to deal with otherwise. But because I just have the Reader since Christmas I brought it back to the store. They send it to be fix and they said it wasn't an usual problem, must be something wrong with the device or something in that field.

I was kind of discourage because the Reader is new for me and it didn't work properly after not even 2 months, I'm wondering if this is worth the price of it. Anybody else has big problem with yours.

Thank you for your concern

introduction

I'm Romy,
I come from Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada. I received the Sony Reader from my son and husband for Christmas. I like to read and I mostly read historical novel, not really the Harlequin type of romance but more Diana Galbaldon type of historical romance. I like to read New Age literature and philosophy like James Redfield. I have a degree in Sociology and I'm working right now on a project (it is not clear yet) to help people find their purpose and to be happy with it and where they are.

Hey Romy, I like new age type stuff as well.
I've been on a spiritual kick - particularly lately -
reading A Course in Miracles, Life After Death by Deepak Chopra,
The Shack by Wm Paul Young, Oneness by Rasha...

I seem to be in a "sabbatical" period while deciding "what
I want to do with my life".. lol.

AbFabGab,

Hi, I'm glad to see we are reading quite the same things right now, it seem to go by period of time. I'm reading Celestine Prophecy, quite interesting. Maybe, we can communicate through our personal email about those subject because I'm quite sure not everybody like that stuff. If you are interested let me know.

Do you have those books on your reader? I don't have mine on. I'm still waiting for my reader to come back, I hope it will be repair fast. It's been over a week now.

No, those are all pbooks I read before I got my reader (a few weeks ago).
I will PM my email to you.

I just finished "Do the dead watch you shower?" last night.
Downloaded from public library. Concetta Bertoldi answers
the most frequently asked questions from her life as a medium.

I also had the three "Crystal" books on my reader by
TK Lebeau. The first two I really enjoyed. Metaphysical fiction.

I recently added "Gospel Mysteries" which I got right
from the Ebooks here on Mobile Read.

Ebooks here on Mobile Read

AbFabGab,

Thank you for your reply. I will take your email adress. You said you downloaded from the Ebooks here on Mobile Read. I'm not use to this to much so I don't know about that. I find this Forum is very complexe and it will take me quite a while to understand how thing work. I just found some people send ebook in there message and I found Emma and I tried to downloaded it but couldn't because I don't know where to put them, is there a library in this forum to put them in and after transfer it to our Reader? I don't have my Reader yet so what do I do?

Hi Romy,

You can access the Ebooks on this forum by looking at the top
of the screen here... you should see a blue line with the following
headings on it:

User CP E-Books New Posts Search Community Quick Links

When you click on Ebooks, it will drop down a menu, then you can choose
Sony BBeB / LRF format.

You can save the ebooks anywhere you like.. just remember where they are! : )
I have a folder in My Documents called Ebooks for Reader and I also have
a folder on my desktop called New Books.

I use the software program called Calibre to download the ebooks and
transfer them to my reader. Calibre also has an ebook viewer so you
can read the ebooks on your computer as well.

I hope that makes sense for you.
If not, just ask away!! : )

Question The return of my Reader

Hi everyone,

I have a brand new Sony Reader. My Reader came back from the company and it wasn't working properly so they gave me a brand new one. I plugged it for couple of hours to my computer to charge the battery because they didn't have enough time at the store to do it completely. I just unplug it and it doesn't work everything disappear again, it look like it is my computer that do something to it. Could that be possible? I'm really confuse here?

It possible. Is this a 505? If your PC on the whole time it was plugged in?

Do you by any chance have a Sony PSP charger? They work much better.

Did you try to reset it?
