If you have previously placed an order for Kindle 1, and have not yet received it, your order will automatically be upgraded to Kindle 2. You need to do nothing. "

What if you don't want a Kindle 2? I heard a couple say they were waiting for Kindle 1 and didn't want the latest.

Why? They dropped some good features from the K1.

There's a lot of Kindle owners who received them during the holidays that will sell their Kindle 1. People who wants Kindle 1 can now get them at bargain prices from some Kindle 1 owners. If they prefer the Kindle 1 then they can return the 2, there will be plenty of good used Kindle 1s for sale

If someone wants a Kindle one, I'll trade them mine for a new Kindle 2. I've read maybe 3 books on it and its in perfect condition.

I was one of the ones that ordered the kindle 1 and wanted the kindle 1. Ive kinda come around and going to try out the k2 before I make up my mind.

Great, this is excellent news to me. Based on what I've read, the Kindle 2 seems to be an improvement, not a downgrade.

Yes, in most respects it looks like a nice evolutionary upgrade. Not enough of one to tempt me personally, though (not that I expected it to be). If I was a first-time buyer, I'd have no problem with it at all.

What if you ordered a K1 and now will be getting a k2 but you don't want a K2, but a brand new K1 with fill warranty? Is there any chance Amazon will sell you a new K1 if you tell them that's what you want?

Probably not since I'd bet they are seriously out of stock and no more will be produced.
