"Starting Up" Forever

I've gone through the posts here looking for this problem but didn't find anything.

This is whats happened so far.

I charged my reader last night via USB, when I woke up this morning I turned off the laptop with out disconnecting the USB cable. The screen was stuck at the "connected to PC" icon.

When I turned the power on and off the reader went into startup mode, when I tried to turn the power off nothing happened.

I removed the SD Card and tried again, it restarted and went into start up mode again, this time the yellow light flashed but nothing happened.

I reinstalled Calibre and the driver, plugged it in = nothing. Installed Sony Software (after uninstalling calibre) = nothing.

Soft Reset/Hard Reset/firmware flash = nothing.

the reader is still frozen at "starting up..." and the yellow light flashes when I hit the power button.

Is there anyway I can get a charge via usb into this thing (my power cord is at home)?

Are you talking about the PRS500 (which is what your profile lists)? If so, charge it with the A/C charger, then reset it.

I was thinking that would work for my PRS500, unfortunately I won't see my charger till I get back home in two weeks. I take it that's the only option.(?)

Are you somewhere where you could pick up a cheap PSP charger? This would work to charge your Reader.
