Great news, indeed.

It seems they need to edit out some bugs, though. I just went to download Neptune Crossing, and it wouldn't work.

Of course, Jeffry did upload books 1-3 here at MR in multiple formats. So why bother to go to BAEN to get them when they are available here?

Hey, speaking of free books, I downloaded one from the library here that's in RAR format. Only I don't seem to have a RAR decoder, and the first two I found on the web wanted me to install the yahoo toolbar as a condition of installing them. No thank you. Can someone point me to a free RAR decoder that doesn't have strings attached?

That was the first one I downloaded. I was just about to click Install when I saw that it intended to install a browser toolbar I didn't want.

The most recent version of WinZip supports exploding RAR files too.

I forgot to say, I've got Winzip. But apparently too old a version to handle rar. (sigh)

You can get internet access and FTP it through your Modem dude.

Didn't mean, you, Jeff. You can choose not to install the toolbar with 7-zip. But maybe we got an easier solution. What book is it?

Not exactly I was being factious.

WinZip does have a 45day eval period.

7zip is open source and your best bet if you don't want to pay for anything.

I'm surprised it tried to install a tool bar. Do a custom install and tell it not to.
