M4B maker that finds and name chapters

[abobimaker]

Hi, I’m the developer of Abobi, a Mac app that combines audio or video files into one M4B audiobook. What sets it apart is the chapters: Abobi can automatically find chapters in the recordings and name them. You then check them in a chapter editor and fix what is off. My aim was to create an app that streamlines M4B creation, with no fuss and no long tinkering.
I don’t know many audiobook fans who use Macs, so I’d like to ask for your feedback: what you like, what you don’t, and what is missing.

Abobi opens MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, CAF, MP4, MOV and M4V.
Needs macOS 14 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon.
Works with DRM-free files only. It does not turn text into speech.
Files stay on your Mac. No account, no analytics.

Abobi is free for recordings up to three hours long, with all features. For longer ones there is a one-time purchase for the full version ($8.99) or, for one-time jobs, a 7-day pass ($1.49). No subscription. If you’d like to test it on longer books and share your thoughts, send me a DM and I’ll send you a code for the full version. No App Store review needed.
