Content Server Running: Safe to Edit and Backup?
I'm getting close to the point where I'll be starting up a Calibre Content Server on my desktop. If the Content Server is running, is it safe to edit books in Calibre at the same time? How about backing up everything with Export? I'm just not sure if it there might be issues with the database (or parts of it) being locked while doing those things.
EDIT: And, while I'm at it, I normally do an rsync backup of all my user files. If Calibre is running while sitting in the System Tray, is that a bad idea? Should I shut it down, do the rsync backup and start it back up? Or, is it ok as long as I don't have a book open being edited (or being read)? Last edited by enuddleyarbl; Today at 08:10 PM. |
