It had been with me since 2016. Why couldn’t I keep my hands still?

Greetings to the entire forum.
I tried to fix my Kobo Glo HD on my own... now, not only does it fail to boot, but I also made the mistake of formatting the SD card.
The result? I was just about to throw it away, but a friend told me about this site; so, I signed up today, hoping to get an image file for restoration. In your opinion, once I have the image file (I’ve requested access to private messaging and am waiting for a response, after which I’ll ask for the file), will it be possible to bring the Kobo back to life, even though I formatted the original SD card (to FAT32, leaving it empty and without any partitions)? My Glo HD deserves a second chance—the battery is still in excellent condition, and the screen is perfect. Has anyone here had a similar experience? Thanks.
