Deleting from drop downs

Hi

I have been using Calibre for sometime now and have generally found my way around it.
In one of the columns the drop down menu has become clogged with references that I never use now. Is there any way that I can delete them?

What menu. It depends on knowing where and what.

Remove the unwanted values via the Tag Browser, or via the Manage categories→<whatever>.

I would use Manage categories (easier, greater functionality, more efficient and safer), you may need to add it to a toolbar or menu, or access via the All actions menu (Ctrl+F1), viz:

The buttons have hardwired shortcuts, see their tooltips.
