eink-emulator - an emulator for eink devices

[katadelos]

eink-emulator is a QEMU-based tool for emulating ereader devices using bootloader, kernel and rootfs images from firmware updates.

This originally started out with Kindle devices but has gradually expanded to support emulation of Kobo, Tolino, Pocketbook and reMarkable devices.

We're already getting a lot of use out of this tool with Kindles over on KMC with it being used to test jailbreaks and homebrew, it's very cool to be able to test work without running the risk of damaging or bricking a device.

The current supported devices are:

• Kobo Mini (N705)
• Kobo Touch (N905)
• Kobo Glo (N613)
• Kobo Aura HD (N204B)
• Kobo Glo HD (N437)
• Kobo Clara HD (N249)
• Kobo Forma (N782)
• Kobo Elipsa 2E (N605)

There's also board models for Kobo Libra Colour/Kobo Clara Colour/Kobo Clara BW but these have only been tested with their equivalent Tolino firmware due to me not having Kobo firmwares to hand.

If you run into any issues, let me know in this thread and I'll do my best to patch them quickly.
