KOReader so well documented

In the last 2 weeks, I've asked Claude a few times if KOReader could do something. And more than once it has said "No" and immediately created a plugin or user patch to do what I need without me even asking.

Pretty amazing that not only is there a rich ecosystem of plugins and user patches for KOReader, but that development is so well documented that my Coding LLM of choice doesn't even if it should make a plugin or user patch. It just does it.

Ask it first to check the User Guide first though: http://koreader.rocks/user_guide/
Otherwise you end up creating an inferior plugin that performs a stock function much worse.

I asked to make me a plugin to do something, and it told me I could already do that in KOReader and didn't need a plugin.

And what was that "something"? Did you want KOReader to make a Nilgiri tea for you?

I wanted to use a 8BitDo Zero 2 Bluetooth controller as a page turner.

Claude had me turn on debug logging, pair the controller, push every key and then upload the crash.log to it. It then asked me what I wanted each button to do. A minute later, I had a user patch that made the Zero 2 work.

At some point I'm going to make it a full plugin.

It also made a User Patch to allow KOReader Android to turn WiFi on and off on-demand. Sadly, th patch doesn't work because the Android build doesn't ask for WiFi permissions.

Ah, I remember buying an 8Bitdo Micro. That was the utmost piece of rubbish I've bought in a long time. It didn't work with various Android devices as page turner and the 8Bitdo app didn't do anything at all, it opened and then there was nothing I could do. I returned the Micro and Amazon gave me my money back.

The Micro works well, depending on the device. On my PocketBook, I pair it in HID/Keyboard mode, and I can map every button to do something in stock KOReader.

The 8BitDo Ultimate app will remap the various buttons. But you need to put it in HID/Keyboard mode.

The Zero 2 isn't as straightforward. You can pair it in HID mode. But I can't find any documentation on keys the buttons map to.
