[Self-Promotion] I built a stylish, powerful e-book reader with no ads/account

[programmouth]

Hey, mobileread!

I've been building Old Solar because every other reader app felt out of date and out of touch. It supports PDFs (even with scanned image based pages) as well as EPUBs. It also works with comics and manga. If a book file doesn't have hyperlinks to jump from the contents to a chapter, Old Solar adds it. If a pdf is image based, you can still select the text and use features like Define, Explain, Etymology, Translate, Read-aloud, etc. No account, no ads, works offline, has sync with wi-fi to sync between the app and the pc version.

Google requires a two-week closed test phase with at least 12 testers before i can publish it, so i'm looking for readers who will actually use it and tell me what bugs them, or what i missed.

1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/old-solar-testers

2. Open this on your phone and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing...mouth.oldsolar

Please keep it installed for the 14 days. Testers get the optional AI features (spoiler-free recaps that only read up to your page, explain selected text, characters briefing) free during the test and for a month after launch.
