Kindle Basic 11th gen (2024) stuck after jailbreak + factory reset — otaupd/otav3 iss
Device: Kindle Basic, 11th gen (2024/KT6)
Jailbreak used: Véra I jailbroke my Kindle, then did a factory reset without restoring OTA capability first. Now it's stuck: every boot goes straight to the setup wizard, shows "Checking for updates, please wait...", then fails with an update download error. Only options are "Try again" and "Manage Wi-Fi" — no way to reach Home/Library. I believe this matches issue #225 on the KindleModding GitHub (same exact scenario, otaupd/otav3 renamed by Véra causing the wizard to loop). I have USB/MTP access to the device even while stuck on this screen, and I've placed the ota.sh restore scriptlet on it, but I have no way to open KUAL/Library to run it since I can't get past the wizard. Does anyone know a way to either: 1.Bypass/skip this specific wizard-lock screen, or 2.Restore the otaupd/otav3 binaries some other way given I only have MTP filesystem access (no shell)? I have a Windows PC available. Any help appreciated. |
