Is Kobo the only e-reader to have font weight adjustment?

Every time I read a non-DRM book I change the font, size, weight, margins, line spacing, etc.

Kindles and Boox devices have it too. Pocketbooks don't have it in their native reader.

From what I’ve seen in the pictures posted on a German forum about the PocketBook Q, it seems they’re going to opt for gamma correction as a way of darkening the text. It is by no means the best solution (it will also affect images, although there aren’t many in novels), but it will allow those who need it to view the text in a darker shade. I don’t know if they are working on an alternative method. For the moment, this is just an assumption based on that picture.

True. However, it's a simple matter to install and run KOReader on PocketBooks. I use it on mine. That does have font weight adjustment.

KOReader is also available for many other devices.

Not everyone wants to use KOReader. So that's not really a solution. The solution is a proper weight setting.

It's a bit more nuanced than that.

I accept that not everyone wants to use KOReader. But that doesn't mean that it's not a solution. It is a solution, though not one that will suit everyone. I have no idea whether or not the OP will want to use it, but it's something that they might want to at least consider.

A proper weight setting in the native reader would be a better solution, but it's not the only one.

Yes, you can install KOReader (or other reading apps) on every Android-based device, which for me is a big plus. So you have many options of e-ink devices to choose from. Plus you can use the same reading app on different devices and don't have to learn how another device handles the options one can apply to an epub file...and then be disappointed if the native reading software doesn't offer what you would like to have.

You can also install KOReader and be disappointed by what it lacks too (e.g., vertical text support), like me! And be confused on top of it. I find the UI confusing. But for those that like it its good it's there.

EDIT: Looks like there's a fork that adds vertical text now, may need to test it...
