[Calibre 9.15+] Create your own adventure (CYOA) discussion and enhancements

Hello,

I'd like to thank the devs for implementing such a fun plugin, i've had the pleasure to play with Create Your Own Adventure (CYOA) using my local LLM (12B) and the adventure was really rich and consistent. I used to read a lot of these books when I was a kid so it brings back a lot of memories.

I'd like to go deeper in this (time consuming) adventure but i wish I could share the end result with (or even play with) my kid, who does not speak english yet.

Is there any "good way" to ask the devs to add a language preference that would apply to all the prompts that are send to the LLM server ? They are currently english hardcoded.

The local LLM I use has great language capabilities and works really well in my native language.

I looked around in the source code (cyoa.py) but i'm not really sure that editing each prompt in there and building Calibre from there will be efficient since didn't really took the time to understand all the code of the CYOA plugin.

What about you, did you play with CYOA ? What did you think ? are there features (or missing ones) that you would like to talk about here ?

Currently things are hardcoded to English because *most* LLMs dont do so well in other languages and the field names have to be English, using another language tends to confuse them. But it's something that I will revisit in the future. Note that you can export your adventure as an EPUB file by clicking the Read button, it will be in English, but you could use the translate plugin for example to translate it to your language.
