The SciFi/Fantasy Publisher Baen has some free ebooks, including novels and short stories. https://www.baen.com/allbooks/catego...=0&hideEarcs=0 I haven't read any yet, but some look interesting.

The selections now compared to when it started under Jim Baen's auspices are very limited. It also hasn't been refreshed in a while.

Jim Baen was an early proponent, maybe the first of DRM free books. He also knew that a good selection of free books would bring lots of new customers to Baen.
