Grounded in documented science, history, and journalism — and written with the emotional pull of a novel — Twenty-One Views of the Amazon does not try to resolve the fight over what this forest should become. It follows a child's question across four generations, through rubber barons and satellite scientists, land grabbers and Indigenous leaders, a British journalist and a Spanish surgery patient, until the question returns, thirty years later, to the same riverbank where it began.
