Series not syncing to device

Hi.
I have a Kobo Clara Colour. Most of my books show in the correct Series on the device, however, I have some that do not show, despite Calibre having them, so I have to search by author and then find out which is the next book.

I connected my device to Calibre and matched the books on my device that are not showing in the series, thinking it might update the meta. That must be incorrect as it didn't work!

I deleted all by that author on the device and sent them again. Now none of them show the series!

Help!

sort of resolved!

I simply clicked send to device again and now they show in the series. However, they're all now marked as Unread, despite having utilities plugin and being marked 100 in calibre!

second connect IS the Kobo way.
(there is no place to put series metadata until Processing that happens on first disconnect)

Thank you. I've never had that before, when I sent to device first time it included the series! I shall know in future

There's a way to update the reading status from Calibre to your Kobo. I always forget how to do it, because I don't do it often, and then I need to go look it up again. But, it is there, don't despair!

If you have Kobo Utilities installed and set up to back up the reading status, you can use the Store/Restore Reading Positions menu option to restore the reading status.
