Exclamation Looking for testers for NickelMenu and some of my mods on Kobo software 5.18+

Hi everyone,

I've been looking into getting NickelMenu and some of my mods (NickelHome, NickelTypeFix, NickelDissolve) up and running on software version 5.18, which is currently opt-in and preloaded on some European Kobos.

As you know, software version 4.x is the only version currently supported by NickelMenu at this time, and my mods are the same.

Now here's the good news: I've been able to get preliminary versions of these working, and I'm currently looking for testers who are interested in trying out these mods on their Kobos running software version 5.18. (I'm currently testing on my Kobo Clara Colour.)

Once I'm sufficiently happy about the stability of NickelMenu, I also plan on making an official PR to make sure the official release of NickelMenu also supports this new software version.

If there's any interest, I will update this post with a link to preliminary versions of NickelMenu and NickelHome for you to try. Any interest?

I will admit to missing a few of my NickelMenu selections on fw 5.x; namely the ability to turn screenshots off and on; this a real pain to see a rendering issue and have no means to quickly grab a shot unless one totally sacrifices the means to power off via the power switch.

Also the ability to trigger a reconnection without unplugging the USB cable to handle the 2nd connection to fully sync metadata.
