Series Checker audits Calibre series against a preferred Amazon marketplace and reports released Kindle volumes that are missing locally. It reads the library without modifying book records.

Features

• Checks the series represented by selected books or all series in the library.
• Uses one Amazon product page to discover a series page, then reads the Kindle volumes from that series page instead of requesting every product separately.
• Matches owned books by ASIN, series index, and normalized title.
• Shows completed checks live, sorted by primary author and series.
• Provides clickable Amazon links for missing books and reports Kindle Unlimited status when Amazon exposes it.
• Ignores unreleased preorders while recording their release dates.
• Caches Amazon results with an explicit expiration. A known upcoming release shortens the cache expiration to that date.
• Produces dark-mode HTML and CSV reports filtered to All, Complete only, Assumed only, or Missing only.

Local omnibus rules

• A series named exactly

  Anthology

  is skipped.
• An index-0 title containing

  Complete

  marks its matching Calibre series complete. A description-only match must also contain the series name.
• Explicit

  Books x-y

  ranges in index-0 titles or descriptions count those volumes as owned.
• An index-0 entry without an explicit range is assumed to cover books 1-3. Assumptions are clearly identified in the report.

• asin:0

  is not used as an Amazon request anchor, although the local book can still count as owned through series number or title.

Installation and configuration

Download the attached

Calibre-Series-Checker.zip

, then use Preferences > Plugins > Load plugin from file and restart Calibre. Add Series Checker to a toolbar or menu through Preferences > Toolbars & menus. Configure the Amazon store, report filter, cache duration, and report directory from the plugin settings. Amazon.com is the default store.

A normal toolbar click checks selected series. The action menu can check the entire library or force-refresh selected series. Starting with selected series is recommended for large libraries to limit Amazon requests.

Limitations

"Complete" means complete relative to Amazon's Kindle series page, which may omit side stories or novellas. Amazon page markup can change. Uncertain entries are shown as Needs review instead of being declared missing.
