Drift Reader — an Android reader for comfortable hands-free reading

Hi everyone,

I’m an independent developer from Costa Rica, and I’ve been working on a small Android ebook reader called Drift Reader.

The idea came from something I personally wanted while reading: being able to spend longer periods reading without constantly having to touch the screen to scroll.

Drift Reader currently supports EPUB and TXT, with adjustable font size, reading modes, and, most importantly for me, an automatic scrolling mode designed for continuous reading.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on the scrolling experience because I wanted it to feel smooth and natural rather than like the screen is simply jumping from one position to another.

The app is still a small independent project, and I’m not here to claim that it is better than the other readers out there. I’d simply like to hear from people who read on Android.

How do you currently handle long reading sessions when you don't want to keep touching the screen?

And if you use auto-scroll, what do you like or dislike about the experience you currently get?

I’d really appreciate honest feedback — including criticism. I’m mainly interested in learning whether the problem that led me to build Drift Reader is something other readers experience too.
