Hi folks.

This is another tool I vibecoded to bridge a gap that I was having: you can decrypt Kindle DRM on device with Satsuoni's DeDRM_tools, but to actually do something with the files you first need to extract the results from /mnt/us/dedrm and convert it in Calibre using KFX Input's plugin.

However there is no good reason we can't use KFX Input to convert the files on-device. We need to have a Python runtime and some extra libraries, and also a custom script to load/call KFX Input. So this is what this project does, it includes all the glue code and the necessary Python+dependencies to run KFX Input on device, and a interface for KUAL (tested with KUAL Next).

The tool right now reads any *.kfx-zip files in /mnt/us/dedrm and generates the *.epub files in the same directory. The conversion is not particularly fast even in a recent Kindle ColorSoft (takes between dozens of seconds up to a few minutes), and there is no way to tweak the conversion, so this is more recommended for those cases where you don't have Calibre available. But it works in a pinch.
