removing a file from an epub changes all other files' date/time
I removed one of the .xhtml files from an epub's OEBPS folder. It seems like Calibre editor changed the modification time of all the other files in that folder (obviously, it made changes to content.opf, but all other files were not changed).
Why is that? is that a bug? |

Individual file mod times inside an EPUB are meaningless and not preserved. You make any change to the EPUB the EPUB is rebuilt. That means all those timestamps get changed.
