Stacpoole, H. de Vere: The Gates of Morning. v1. 22 Aug 2026

The final installment of the Blue Lagoon trilogy follows young Dick Lestrange, now declared king of a vulnerable South Sea island. As he works to protect his adopted people from external threats, a mutiny aboard a pearl-hunting schooner brings violence to their shores, and Dick transitions from a sheltered youth into a responsible leader forced to handle real-world conflict and survival. Written as an exposé of European destruction of island cultures, the novel weaves together themes of innocence, exploitation, and survival in paradise.
