raspberry pi 5 cron

i have running Calibre on my Pi 5

calibre wil start when i open the cli and type calibre

i want to start and stop calibre (in the gui) on specific times

in my (root) crontab i have

0 2 * * * pkill -f calibre

works fine

but i can't start calibre in my cron

i also want to start calibre on booting the pi

can anybody help me?

Which Pi Distro?
MX Linux (no systemd?) may be very different to Rasperian etc.
