Smile STARSEEK 01 I – The City Without Voices | Illustrated Science Fiction / First Contact

Hi everyone,

I'd like to introduce an illustrated science-fiction project I've been developing called STARSEEK.

The larger universe is called FARBLOOD and follows six separate expedition ships leaving Earth on different missions into the unknown.

STARSEEK 01 I – The City Without Voices follows the first of those missions: the expedition ship ASCENT and its crew.

The story begins before the crew reaches its destination and gradually moves toward Candidate 01 — an unfamiliar living world whose history turns out to be much more complicated than the expedition initially expects.

The book combines a continuous science-fiction story with full-page illustrations throughout, with a strong focus on:

planetary exploration
alien environments
first contact
abandoned settlements and traces of earlier inhabitants
crew dynamics
mystery and worldbuilding

The English edition is available now.

More information about the book and the wider STARSEEK universe can be found here:

http://farblood.com

I also produced a short cinematic Proof of Concept based on a later sequence from the book. It shows the ASCENT shuttle completing its landing on Candidate 01, the rear ramp opening and the first human contact with the surface:

For transparency, generative image and video tools are part of the visual production workflow. The story, characters, worldbuilding, narrative structure, scene planning, editing and overall direction are developed and assembled by me.

I'd be interested to hear from readers who enjoy illustrated science fiction or exploration-focused stories.

Best,
Roland
