Dulac, Edmund: Edmund Dulac’s Fairy Book. v1. 09 Aug 2026
Fifteen fairy tales retold and beautifully illustrated with sixteen full-page color plates by Edmund Dulac, drawn from the folklore traditions of Europe, England, Ireland, Russia, Serbia and Japan. ================ Edmund Dulac (1882 – 1953) was a French-born British-naturalized illustrator and stamp designer. He is recognized as one of the finest artists of the “Golden Age of Illustration.” Celebrated for vibrant, dreamlike watercolor and gouache fantasy plates, his richly detailed and colorful works have much in common with paintings owing to their vibrancy and textured coloration. He produced a dozen illustrated “gift books” in the first quarter of the twentieth century. Notably, during World War I, he contributed to a number of charitable relief books, including his own Edmund Dulac's Picture-Book for the French Red Cross (1915) , and Edmund Dulac’s Fairy Book of the Allied Nations (1916). ========== A list of the titles: Spoiler:
