Suitcase-Inspired Look?

So says the description for the latest Go 6 (Gen 2).
https://shop.boox.com/products/go6gen2

Have people been asking for that?
"I'd like my ereader to look more like a suitcase, please."

Ok, they added an extra GB of RAM, not necessarily a bad thing.
But what concrete improvement over and above the Go 6 (no gen) was made?

And can a belt sander eliminate this verisimilitude to a piece of luggage?
Enquiring minds would like to know.

I'll just go off to the kitchen now and try to cook up a suitcase-inspired meal.

I have one on the way; I too would like to see what a suitcase design looks like. I fear that it has some texture that may weaken the attachment to a magnetic case. but i do like the white bezel around the screen. I think it makes the reading experience nicer on my libra color and viwoods readers

Corrugation on suitcases is meant to enhance strength. This might provide some benefit for an e-reader case, but I'm not sure it is worth the cost in terms of tactile experience and aesthetics (to me at least it looks ugly and uncomfortable).

Or it could be a case that it was simply some marketing flack's brainwave. The description seems to support this view.

I've had a Poke3, Poke 5, Go6.

The Poke3 had a cover with a rear plastic shell.
When I replaced the battery with a thicker battery I left the device's actual back off since the cover shell was enough protection.

On both the Poke5 and Go6 I trimmed the back of the cover to a tab and glued it to the device.
I also removed a metric ton of unnecessary magnets from the device.
That's all detailed here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=357286

I'm still planning on making my own cover out of 1.25 mm Plexiglas laminated with clear plastic.
It will leave the screen completely visible when closed.

The revision supports the active pen, so it seems likely Onyx will allow you to do notebook stuff on the new model. Whether you count that as an improvement I don't know, but that looks like Onyx's reason for releasing it.

Ok, but the pen doesn't come with it. It's an extra $33 (marked down from $46).
Unfortunately they don't even have any Go6 (no gen) left to sell.
