[Plugin] Xteink X3 (stock firmware) — send books wirelessly + manage files
Hi
Got tired of SD-card shuffling my Xteink X3, so I put together a Calibre plugin for it. Works on stock firmware, not CrossPoint. What it does: Send EPUBs from Calibre straight to the reader over Wi-Fi Browse and delete whatever's already on the device from a little dialog inside Calibre (folders too, recursively) Finds the reader on your network automatically, or you can just punch in an IP and it remembers it Already on CrossPoint? Skip this one, grab crosspoint-reader/calibre-plugins instead — talks a completely different (and actually documented) protocol. Fair warning up front: the stock firmware's local API is completely undocumented, so a good chunk of this is me poking at it and writing down what worked. There's a weird step where it needs to ping a manufacturer domain before it'll even talk to you on the LAN — no idea why, it's just how the firmware behaves, details in the README if you're curious (or suspicious, which is fair). Also, full transparency: I leaned on AI pretty heavily to build this and reviewed it by hand afterward rather than writing it all myself line by line. It does what I need on my own X3, but I wouldn't trust it blind — test on something you don't mind losing before pointing it at your actual library. Repo: https://github.com/ElendilDrac01/xte...-calibre-stock If anyone's dug into the stock API before and knows I got something wrong, I'd genuinely love to hear it. ElendilDrac01 |
