Installation Error

Downloaded and attempted to install the latest update (9.13.0) and received two errors: 2503 and 2502 and install aborted. Thought maybe the file corrupted during d/l so I deleted and d/l again. Same result.

Thanks for all your efforts in keeping this fantastic software up-to-date, Kovid Goyal!!

I've read the FAQ. I'm also having trouble while updating to 9.13. I'm on Linux (Mint LMDE 7), and have used the CLI update/install for many years. Today, it's stalling on "Setting up desktop integration...", where it just hangs. I hit CTRL-C, and get this "Traceback":

Spoiler:

Code:

I can start Calibre normally, and the update was successful. But this behaviour is odd in my experience, so thought it worth a report.

Just for another data point, I updated to 9.13 this morning on Linux Mint Cinnamon edition with no problems.

Another data point: no problem updating Calibre to v9.13 on Bazzite with my usual "isolated" install method:

wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.sh | sh /dev/stdin install_dir=~/calibre-bin isolated=y

It's a harmless error in any case, most likely one of the xdg-mime tools on your systemis failing. All it means is some .desktop files wont be installed which doesnt matter as they will have been installed by a previous install anyway
