A few Pocketbook Qs

I've been a Kobo Libra H2O user for many years, but the Kobo needs replacing as the battery life is getting pretty short and the micro-USB charging port is coming loose. I had a look at Kobo offerings, but they now only seem to have 7" readers with colour screens, and I only read text so prefer a B&W screen. I purchased a Pocketbook Era Lite as a replacement, and I haven't been able to sort the following problems/differences from the Kobo.

1. On the Kobo, when I encounter a footnote in a book and tap on it, it opens in a popup which can be easily dismissed to return to the book on the same page. On the Pocketbook, tapping on a footnote takes me to where the footnote is located, usually at the end of the chapter or end of the book, and I have to find my way back to where the footnote appears in the book. Any way around this?

2. I keep my ebooks in Calibre, and I was able to sideload them onto the Era without problem. The book series I had setup in Calibre have come across OK, but if I go to Library, then change from All books to Series, and tap on a series, the books in the series are shown to me in alphabetical order of their titles, not in their order in the series, though the series name and number of the book in the series appear below the title of each book. Is it possible to change this?

ad. 1 - there should be a button in the bottom left corner to back visible until you change a page or so;
ad. 2 - there is "sort" menu to sort by number as well in the upper right part of the screen.
