Configured Calibre Content Server libraries can now sync reading status automatically through the columns you choose.
Fixed a bug that showed a German interface by default for unsupported languages; a new language picker in Settings lets you choose directly.
Long series names no longer hide the book's number, and star ratings now show in grid view.
Also: smoother full-text search, a new publisher filter, and connection fixes.
Also some e-ink device specific optimizations.

I tried again to apply the VL, and here the results (android app)

1) VL based on tag-like columns (search expression: #type:"Books"), it works

2) VL based on yes/no column (search expression: #on_device:"YES"), it doesn't work. The error thrown reads: "VL uses a filter this APP can't apply. #on_device: expects true or false. I tried to change the search expression to #on_device:"true", but it gave the same error.

3) VL based on id (VL Plugin), search expression:
