I need help with couple og epub files (converted from other formats) that has a messed up layout.
Sometimes there are several blank pages, other times a sentence gets to different rows word-by word. (Like this sentence.) but sometimes the sentences are only cut in half in weird ways. Do you know any efficient ways to correct it beside manually go through the whole book and correct every similar mistakes? |

It's hard to come up with a simple solution without seeing the epub and the code.
Is it a book in copyright? If no, then you can upload it here. If it is, then you need to scramble it first then upload it... https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=267998 |

Is the original format PDF? It sounds like the source could be PDF and if so, yes, you have to go through each one and fix it by hand in order to correct as many errors as possible.
What you really have to do is if the source is good, then you have to A/B compare the ePub to the source and fix all errors. |

PDF is a more 'paste up' format. Strips of text a 'pasted' at xy locations on the page. A large cap, might be pasted later, but in the correct place. The same for graphics. OTOH the PDF file is a linear set of instructions on where to put what (and may include fonts to use).
Nothing needs to be in order for the resulting page to be perfect. The key word is PAGE. |
