From the colourful days of American pulp fiction, when gaudy covers dazzled the eye, and titles such as "Spicy Detective", "The Feds", "Hollywood Detective", "Spicy Western", "Doc Savage", and "Terror Tales" competed for your dime. Laurence Donovan was one of the little known but immensely prolific writers who filled these magazines both under their own names and numerous pseudonyms, including "House" names. Under his own name and more than a dozen aliases he appeared in practically every pulp magazine on the market.

This volume contains 20 of his tales, mostly from the 30s and 40s. He favoured the 4-5,000 word length, so this 20 story volume runs to 145,000 words.
