Error connecting with device - Kobo Libra Color

Hi, I am having problems trying to connect my Kobo LC with calibre. I noticed that my Kobo would not connect with my wifi and I reset it (turned off power on back, then back on). I was then able to find wifi and connect and updated to the latest Kobo software 4.45.23697 (f576aa4ee9, 5/25/26).
The only problem (that I know of) is that the book I was reading was deleted off my Kobo somehow. I searched by book title, author and series and couldn't find it anywhere.
Anyway...I just tried to connect to calibre to redownload my book and got this error message
Spoiler:
calibre, version 9.8.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

This doesn't look like a good thing, but how can I fix it? Thanks!

The DB on the Kobo is damaged.
If you have not been using the backup the DB feature of Kobo utilities: You need to sign the Kobo out and then sign back in.
If you have, just use the OS to (unzip) and put the contents of the .kobo folder into the same folder on the kobo

Thanks so much, that was the problem! I signed out and back in again and everything is back like it was.

There is an option in Kobo Utilities to restore the database.

If you use calibre, install Kobo Utilities and configure it to backup your database. Also, make sure you properly eject your Kobo from the computer.
