Unhappy Boox 10.3 Go Gen II Lumi Boot Loop (desperate)

Hey all,

I'm so desperate for help, I just got this 20 days ago and it took me ages to save up for. I was so so happy with it.

Then today it randomly started boot-looping. It'll be on the BOOX logo, then it'll flash to a white screen, then it'll go back to the Boox logo.

Sometimes (I'm not sure if pressing power at certain times influences this) it turns on for a couple of seconds before turning off again to the boox logo (not the 'art background' off screen). Curiously, the power options come up most of the time, as if the button is being pressed. However, it is not being pressed, nor is it jammed or stuck down in any way.

It has plenty of battery life, and it being on or off charge doesn't change anything.

No updates to my knowledge, nothing new installed, no physical damage, not done anything fancy to it.

The Boox customer support website 404s for me. I got it through Amazon and so I might hopefully be able to return it but...I don't want to. I loved this thing and, well, it's mine! I just want it working.

I don't know what to do. I'm not very tech saavy.

Please help. I'm so desperate. I don't know what to do.

I tried pressing a stapler through the little hole in the top as I thought it might be a factory reset, but it didn't do anything. Nothing I do wrt pressing the power button impacts it. I cannot get it out of the loop, even to just be 'shut down' and doing nothing.

I'm so desperate for help. I saved up so much for this.

I apologise if this is some sort of specialist forum, I see most posts are about rooting. I HAVE NOT ROOTED THE DEVICE, nor do I even know what that means. Just as an fyi. Please help. Please please please please. I'm so depressed.

Doesn't work, nothing gets it out of the boot loop.

When it does turn on sometimes the 'power options' come up, it's as if it thinks the power button is being pressed. The button itself is NOT jammed though.

It fixed itself for like 1.5 months and today it just broke again. AAAAAAGH.

I'm sorry that I missed this the first time.

I think that you might have got this diagnosed correctly with the power button.
You can try pushing it by using two fingernails, then slide your fingers apart to let the button snap back.

I don't know how hard it is to take this one apart.
If you can, it's easy to check the switch, a bit harder to replace it with the exact correct one.
Although, any competent handy repairman should be able to do a crappy job like I did on one ereader.
