Libra 2 Kobo Libra 2 bricked

I need help with my Kobo Libra 2 (rev 6F0). It recently froze while changing screen brightness in koreader and after hard resetting, it wouldn't turn back on again
I tried flashing it with a new image, but even after setting the serial number the screen wouldn't refresh. Only the backlight would light up
Checking the logs via a serial connection revealed that the power chip is timing out

jd9930_wait_power_good():waiting(20) for PG=1 (0) timeout
jd9930_chip_power(): trun off chip when rail power on !! turn it off.

The fresh image kept spamming this error output, whereas the original image would print it once and then bootloop

The ribbon cables still have the waterproof layer so I doubt the connector somehow got disconnected
