Which of these options is best?

I'd like to have the option to keymap the power button to be used as a next page button using the native Kobo software. I've done so on Koreader, and while I enjoy the functionality, Koreader is a bit to clunky for me.

I found a few options available however I'm unsure which way forwards...
1. NickelMenu keymaps the powerbutton as screenshots, however I couldn't find anything in the documentation for an option to go next page
2. Kobopatch might have this, but I also couldn't find anything
3. Program it myself, however whether I should do this using NickelHook, or some other option? I have some programming experience with Java and C++.

If you could do this, don't. You could wear out the power button and then your screwed.

I've bought it in a country with pretty good consumer protection laws and am happy to take the risk. Do you know how I could achieve this?

I have no idea how to make the power button turn pages. And if you could do this and you did wear out the power button, it would be your fault for using the power button in a way it was not intended to be used.
