Hi all,
I’ve been working on an Android EPUB reader called AILector and I’m currently looking for a small group of beta testers from the ebook/ereader community. The idea behind the app is simple: while reading, you can interact with the book through integrated AI tools without constantly switching to ChatGPT, browsers, notes apps, or translators. Current features: ✅ Contextual questions on selected text ✅ Questions about the current chapter or the entire book ✅ AI-generated chapter summaries ✅ AI translations directly inside the reader ✅ Highlights, notes, and bookmarks ✅ EPUB support The main goal is to improve deep reading and studying workflows, especially for: * non-fiction readers * students * language learners * people reading technical books or long essays The app isn’t public yet, I’m currently running a closed beta on Google Play and I’m looking for Android users willing to test the app for the next couple of weeks and share honest feedback about usability, reading experience, and AI usefulness. I’m especially interested in feedback from people already using apps like Moon+ Reader, ReadEra, KOReader, Librera, or similar tools. https://ailector-site.vercel.app/ If you’d like to try it, comment here or send me a DM Last edited by encol; 05-11-2026 at 10:37 AM. The problem is the AI. You'd be best to remove all AI. An app to read books does not need AI.
How about a nice simple app that just lets you read eBooks without all the AI? Last edited by JSWolf; 05-11-2026 at 10:21 AM. |

Anyway, if you don’t need AI, you can just not use it

Not having AI is actually becoming something different.
