Question prevent series index change from [2007.10] to [2007.1]

i have series entries for volumes with year.month - but "example [2007.10] - always gets converted to "example [2007.1] - no matter what i do or how i adjust the settings and tweaks.

it drives me nuts... it's very unlikely that i'm the first one with this problem but i can't find a solution anywhere... i'm getting too old for this...

to put it simple: how do i force calibre to display a second decimal number (0) if it's manualy entered (and only if it's manualy entered) in the series field.

what i'm doing at the moment ist to number it 2007.01 to 2007.12 - but that's a lot extra work and it looks bad (2007.09 2007.1 2007.11)

pls!

You don't, really. It is a fractional number to the right of a decimal.
That is one of the rare times where using a . to indicate a series range falls down, another is when they omnibus skips: 5, 9.
So I just use n.11 and add a note in comments (when the title has complete, all on no indication) or Add vols 1-10 to the title

BTW I use {series_index:0>5.2f} in a file name template.
That makes the both side always appear as 2 chars: 09.10
That template manipulate TEXT numbers

In my Periodicals library I use a Custom column (#issue_date/Issue date) that is formatted as 'yyyy MMMM' - shows as "2021 January". . . "2021 October", sorts as 2021-01. . . 2021-10.
