Jailbreaking Kindle Touch

Kindle Touch, FW 5.1.2
Jailbroken (mkk folder present)
Can't register (Amazon won't accept login on old FW)
Update button permanently greyed out
MKK certs expired, KUAL showing unsigned error

I cant update my firmware from 5.1.2 to 5.3.2.1, when i tried to go from 5.1.0 to 5.3.2.1 today, it instead somehow only went to 5.1.2. I attempted that for a long time, then just turned my efforts to jailbreaking my kindle on the current FW 5.1.2, however, I cannot register my kindle, I can connect to wifi but it rejects my amazon account. I belive i am correctly jailbroken, as I can run ;log mpri to try to install MKK updates and whatnot, but to no avail. If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear it.

No point in registering it. All pre-2012 Kindles will be disabled from connecting to Amazon by May 20th.

Right, I saw that somewhere. Does it have to be registered to have the update button work? Or is there any workaround to try to force update it while KUAL isn't working?

I read a post on Reddit from someone who was having the same problem. They were able to fix it by first restoring their Kindle Touch with Kubrick. Then they were able to update it to 5.3.7.3.

That's the route I ended up going and had success, thanks for the recommendation
