Prices of Ebooks are so expensive!

Prices of Ebooks are so expensive! They sometimes cost just as much as their paperback counterparts. What is the logic behind such hike in price. It is not like they have to pay printing cost or inventory cost. I see no justification for HIGH ebook price. They are trying to encourage people into piracy.

Ebooks have cost as much as paper books for a long time. As with any price, the logic is what the market will bear. It has nothing to do with actual production costs. As long as there are enough people buying ebooks with those prices, there is no incentive for publishers to lower them.

Digital books are worth more to me. Control of fonts, size & spacing, hubby and I can read the same book at the same time. I didn't have to pack and move them when we moved 4 years ago.

That said, most of our books are library loans or Kindle Unlimited. We buy very few books anymore.

Pirates gonna pirate, regardless of price.

Same here. I value ebooks more the physical books. Another big one for me is the ability to hear about a book, buy the book, and begin reading said book within minutes. As I've mentioned many times before: I don't even bother looking at the price of a book format I have no interest in, or intention of buying. The price of physical books is irrelevant to my book shopping.
