Can't Run Calibre on a backup library after 9.7 update
Hi all,
I have been using Calibre for over 5 years with no problems, but I have just run into a failure I can't seem to resolve. I am using Calibre 9.7 on a Win 10 server I maintain oin a home network attached to a local drive array where I keep my primary library. I have also established a backup library that I keep on an encrypted cloud partition in Dropbox. When I need to travel, I access my stored books from the backup library. I just updated my home server version of Calibre to 9.7 and now I can't access the backup Calibre library, but only on this machine. My laptop that I am traveling with can access the backup library normally, so the backup library iseems to be fine. My home server can access my main Calibre library. However, when I try to switch to the backup library from this one machine, I get a load error with these details: calibre 9.7 embedded-python: True Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '10', '10.0.19045') Python 3.14.2 Windows: ('10', '10.0.19045', 'SP0', 'Multiprocessor Free') Interface language: None EXE path: C:\Program Files\Calibre2\calibre.exe Successfully initialized third party plugins: Gather KFX-ZIP (from KFX Input) (2, 30, 0) && Package KFX (from KFX Input) (2, 30, 0) && KFX metadata reader (from KFX Input) (2, 30, 0) && From KFX (2, 30, 0) && KFX Input (2, 30, 0) Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\db\notes\connect.py", line 77, in __init__ File "os.py", line 236, in makedirs FileExistsError: [WinError 183] Cannot create a file when that file already exists: 'E:\\Temp_Library\\.calnotes\\resources' During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred: Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\__init__.py", line 881, in dispatch File "calibre\gui2\actions\choose_library.py", line 773, in switch_requested File "calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 970, in library_moved File "calibre\db\legacy.py", line 191, in __init__ File "calibre\db\legacy.py", line 45, in create_backend File "calibre\db\backend.py", line 568, in __init__ File "calibre\db\backend.py", line 1020, in initialize_notes File "calibre\db\notes\connect.py", line 79, in __init__ FileNotFoundError: [WinError 2] The system cannot find the file specified: 'E:\\Temp_Library\\.calnotes\\resources' I did not want to just start randomly poking around to try and resolve this error. The integrity of both my main and backup libraries appear to be fine as they can both be opened on different machines, except for my local home server. Can anyone please let me know the best way to clean things up so I can get back to full access to my main and backup libraries on mh 'Windows 10 machine? |
